MUSIC DIRECTOR

We are currently looking for a main stage MUSIC DIRECTOR. If you are interested in this position, please send your resume to oakwoodtheatre1981@gmail.com. This position will receive a stipend.

What are the responsibilities of a music director?

As a member of the show’s central creative team—alongside the director, assistant director and choreographer—the music director is hard at work from the very beginning of the production process: developing an overall vision for the production's music, leading the musical aspects of the audition process, helping cast actors and singers in roles, teaching the music to the cast and possibly selecting and helping with hiring pit orchestra musicians if tracks are not being used.

Volunteer positions are open to anyone from the community who would like to help. We also offer community service hours to any high school student.

BACKSTAGE

Backstage is where most of the magic happens. Without curtain pullers, set movers, prop coordinators, and stage managers we couldn't have a show! No job is too small when it comes to theatre. Our stagehands help our shows run smoothly.

TECH

If you don't like being in the spot light but would like to help shine the spot light, a tech volunteer position is the perfect SPOT for you! Any interest in sound and lighting contact us to volunteer.

PIT BAND

We would love to have your musical talent in our pit band. If you play an instrument, can read music, and would like to be part of our musical productions contact us!

COSTUMING

Are you skilled in sewing? Do you have a passion for finding period accurate clothing? Then we could use your help gathering and organizing costumes for all the actors on stage.

FRONT OF HOUSE

Ticket sales, concession stand, photo sales and ushers are always needed on show days. If you can't commit the entire summer to be in the show but would love to help out in some way, this is the volunteer position for you.
