Frequently Asked Questions

We hope to answer most of your questions here. If you don't see your question, or need a more in depth answer, please contact us. 

Q. Where can I purchase tickets?

A. Tickets can be purchased at the door or on one our ticket presale days. We are working hard to find the perfect way to offer an online payment option for the future but as of now we are CASH ONLY.

Q. When are rehearsals?

A. Rehearsals for each show run Monday-Thursday. The college is closed on Fridays. The straight show is 6:00pm-9:00pm. The children's show is 6:00pm-8:00pm. The main stage musical is 6:00pm-9:00pm. Each show has it's own first date for rehearsals, please check the individual page under the about us tab to see first date rehearsals. 

 

Q. What are the age requirements?

A.  Straight Show- 17 years and older

     Children's Show- 7-18 years old

     Main Stage Musical- 14 years and older

Q.How much do tickets cost?

A. Tickets cost $10 per ticket. We do offer group rates. Please email oakwoodtheatre1981@gmail.com for group rates of 15 or more people.

Q. How can I be part of the production without performing on stage?
A. We are always looking for extra hands to help! We need help with stage crew, costuming, props, sets, ticket booth, pit band, concessions and ushers. Contact us if you would like to join our team!

Q. Will I know what my role is before committing to the program?
A. Once our directors cast the show you will receive an email or a phone call with the role offer. We ask that you accept or decline your role in a timely manner. Once you accept your role, a cast list will be shared on social media and on the "Cast Lists" tab on the website. If you have specific needs in terms of casting, please note this on your audition form. However, we encourage you to be open to all opportunities as there is always something to learn from each and every role and production.

Q. What if I have a vacation planned during rehearsal time?

A. As long as your vacation does not interfere with show dates, our directors do their best to accommodate your schedule. We ask for you to put any dates you are not available on your audition form. 

 

Q. Do I need to pre-register or sign up for a time slot for auditions?

A. Our auditions are open auditions. You do not need to sign up or pre-register. You may arrive during the times posted to audition. You will have an audition form and a release form to fill out when you arrive at auditions.
 

Q. Do you offer any summer day camps for kids?

A. At this time due to college facility availability, all of our rehearsals for each show are held in the evenings.  Rehearsals for the kids show are held Monday-Thursday 6:00-8:00pm. The college is closed on Fridays.

Q. What are the age requirements for each show? 

A. The children's show is ages 7-18. The straight show this year needs actors ages 17 and older. The main stage musical is ages 14 and older.

Q. How much does it cost to be in a show?

A. There is a one time fee of $30 per person. If there are multiple family members, $30 for the first member and $15 for each additional family member (must be immediate family, siblings or parent/child, cousins do not count as immediate family).

Q. Is the facility wheel chair accessible?

A. Yes! Our facility is wheel chair accessible.
