Straight Show
Meet the Team
Meet the team responsible for our Straight Show.
What is a straight show?
A straight play is a piece of theater that is not a musical but relies on the spoken word to tell the story. This kind of play moves the story along through spoken dialogue, as opposed to song and dance. These two art forms are both considered plays, but are usually presented in completely different styles.
Requirements
There are only two requirements to be in Oakwood Summer Theatre's Straight Show.
1. You must be 13 or older.
2. You come in ready to learn, grow your performance skills and have fun! You will create a lifetime of memories and build lifelong friendships here at Oakwood Summer Theatre.
You do not need any prior theatre experience to be part of Oakwood Summer Theatre's straight show. We will teach you all the basics and proper theatre etiquette. We just ask for your commitment to your role. We hope you are as excited about the stage as we are!
