Audition Guide – What to Expect

Nervous about auditions? Don’t be!

Here’s what to expect so you can feel confident and ready.

When You Arrive:

• Head to Davidow Hall located at Salem Community College.

• Check in at the welcome table and fill out an audition form and release form.

 

Waiting to Audition:

• Volunteers will guide you to the audition area.

• When it’s your turn, you’ll hand your form to the director and receive a script page to read.

• While waiting, this is a great time to read over your script with your group and rehearse your song if you are auditioning for a musical.

• You will be reading with other actors-perfect for making new friends!

• If you are auditioning for a musical you will be asked to sing a song. Choose a song that fits your vocal range. 

• Tip-focus on clear diction and confident volume—your words should be easy to understand and reach the entire room!

 

After Auditions:

• Role notifications come via email for role acceptance.

• After all roles have been accepted, a full cast list will be posted  on our website under the "CAST LISTS" tab and on our social media pages.
